2022 West Potomac Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees​

West Potomac’s Athletic Hall of Fame is pleased to announce its class of 2022 inductees.  The accomplishments of each of these individuals have brought distinction and pride to West Potomac High School and its community.

Ryan Drummond (Class of 1986)
​Track

  • 16 Individual District Championships (55m x 2, 100m x 3, 200m x 4, 300m x 1, 400m Relay x 3, 800m Relay x 3)
  • 12 Time 1st Team All Region (55 x 1, 100m x 3, 200m x 2, 400m Relay x 3, 800m Relay x 3)
  • 5 Time Individual Region Champion
  • 6 Time All-State in the 55m x 2, 100m x 2, 200m x 1, 4 x 200m relay
  • School Record Holder in the 55m, 100m, 200m, 400m Relay.
  • Honorable Mention All-Met in the Spring of 1985
  • 1st Team All-Met in the Spring of 1986
  • Ranked No. 2 in the United States in the 200m Dash (’86)

  • Leading Tackler in Wolverine History
  • Won 2 State Football Championships (’89,’90)
  • 2 Time 1st Team All-Region Football (‘89,’90)
  • 1st Team Washington Post All-Met Football (’89)
  • 1st Team All-State Football (’90)
  • Received a Football Scholarship to Attend Newberry College

Laura Rankin Outland (Class of 1990) Swimming

  • Active with the School Newspaper, the “Wire”
  • Lead the Girl’s Wolverine Swim Team to three District Titles
  • Attended Cornell University and was a Four-year Letter Winner for their Swim Team.
